Many commercial fishery associations conduct a significant amount of fisheries-related research and inventory around Haida Gwaii, mostly in conjunction with Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) and sometimes also with the Haida Nation. The Pacific Urchin Harvesters Association and the Underwater Harvesters Association (geoduck fishers) have been particularly active in research and inventory in partnership with DFO and the Haida Fisheries Program. Other associations representing fishing industries active around the Islands can be found on the BC Seafood Alliance membership.
